The StarFish 450H is designed for mounting on virtually any type of vessel and utilises advanced digital Chirp acoustic technology. The company claims that it can outperform many larger systems in shallow water at a fraction of the cost while producing spectacular seabed images of targets as small as one inch.

The bracket mounted system can be connected to a Windows PC or laptop via a USB connection and so provide real time digital seabed images at depths down to 100m without any concern for snagging a towing cable when surveying in shallow or high traffic waters. Tritech, which has developed StarFish 450H at its design and production plant at Ulverston in Cumbria, adds that it is also capable of viewing targets at longer ranges without any loss in image quality.
