UKHO upgrades bathymetry portal
The UK Hydrographic Office says that some of its most recently acquired UK bathymetry is now available on its Data Archiving Centre (DAC) web portal following refreshing of data-based information.
Regular quarterly updates now appear on the portal, ensuring that new data is available with a minimum of delay. The latest update, completed in May, features an additional 84 data sets by way of supporting information on over 300 existing files.
New additions include samples of data provided by the Port of London Authority, who have created outputs from their own archives specifically for the DAC and so provide data coverage in the Thames Estuary where there has previously been no free access to bathymetry. Also available are new surveys from the Maritime & Coastguard Agency’s Civil Hydrographic Programme for Eddystone Rocks to Lizard Point and Approaches to Cardigan Bay routes, both of which now provide high-resolution multibeam coverage for areas previously served only by analogue outputs.
