Veripos anniversary move

Veripos, now claiming to be the world’ s second largest supplier of satellite based positioning services to the world offshore industry in a market estimated to be worth at least € 2bn, has marked its 20th anniversary with a move to new premises in Westhill, Aberdeen. Its new headquarters include a state of the art Network Control Centre (NCC) for operational control of its GNSS services, supported by a secondary centre in Singapore.

Originally founded in 1989 as a joint venture between the former Brown & Root Survey and Ormston Technology to provide a Differential GPS service to North Sea customers, the company has since expanded to maintain a fully globalised positioning capability staffed by 75 specialist personnel based in seven regional sites.

Now a subsidiary of Subsea 7, it numbers leading exploration, construction, survey and drilling organisations among its clients. Its Asia Pacific Region in Singapore has just been awarded a major contract by PT Pageo Utama of Jakarta for provision of precision positioning services and equipment in support of two three-year regional survey and navigation service projects being carried out by the Indonesian company for BP West Java and CNOOC South East Sumatra.
