Chartwell Marine expands into APAC

The move is a sign of confidence in the economic growth of the region, from where managing director Andy Page says there has been  a ’surge in demand for sustainable maritime solutions’, with six vessels already ordered.

The new office will be opened in Singapore and headed up by Fabien Lecuona, who has more than 13 years of experience in APAC maritime, including maritime electronics and engine manufacturing, Chartwell says.

“Within his new role, Fabien will focus on business development, fostering industry partnerships and promoting Chartwell’s innovative and low-carbon vessel designs,” the company says. “Chartwell Marine has chosen Singapore as its APAC base due to the country’s status as a leading global maritime hub, green commitments and business-friendly environment.”

As well as the six vessels on order, two are in build and Chartwell, a Seawork regular, says it has received interest from offshore wind stakeholders in Taiwan, South Korea and Japan.

“I look forward to working with the team to build upon this reputation and develop vessels that create a cleaner maritime industry and drive forward the renewable energy transition,” said Lecuona.
