Commercial marine law firm launched

Formerly colleagues at LA Marine, co-founders Lucy Goff and Jennie Harris say Ocean Legal, which was only launched this year yet already has international clients, offers a different billing system from other law firms, ie instead of a billable hours approach, it will have transparent fixed fees.

As well as marine insurers and lenders, it will offer legal services to vessel owners and operators, ports and harbour authorities, shipyards and other marine businesses.

From next month, Ocean Legal will provide a monthly column for readers of Maritime Journal on many of the legal minefields that surround commercial marine.

The company will work with Excello Law, a network of experienced lawyers across various sectors, which will support the new firm in various ways.
