DCT Gdańsk to build T3 deep-water terminal
A third deep-water terminal is to be built at the largest container terminal complex on the Baltic Sea, DCT Gdańsk.
Budimex SA and Dredging International NV will carry out the work, which is due to start after the holiday season in September.
The T3 project will include a 717m long deep-water quay, with a depth of 17.5 metres and a yard area of 36.5 hectares.
Seven quay cranes capable of handling the world’s largest vessels will be added to the terminal along with 20 semi-automated Rail Mounted Gantry cranes for the container yard.
On completion, the port will be one of the largest container hubs in Europe, with an increase in handling capacity of 1.7 million TEUs bringing its total capacity to 4.5 million.
