Telemar merges with TNL to fast-track digital change

In a statement, the companies said the merger would put the entity among the world’s top three maritime and superyacht OT (Operational Technology) and IoT (Internet of Things) providers.

”The combined entity will allow customers to accelerate digital transformation, with smart maintenance and bridge OT security forming part of an integrated, managed services ecosystem designed to support smarter, safer, and more sustainable maritime operations,” the statement said.

Telemar CEO Mike Bauwens will lead the expanded operation, which will work across Europe, Asia and the US. 

The two companies are well matched, both offering bridge navigation electronics and communications systems for maritime.

Benefits of the merger for customers include expanded service coverage, remote bridge diagnostics and enhanced safety services, with annual survey and inspection of critical components, Marlink says.
