Vicente Boluda Fos wins France’s highest medal
Vicente Boluda Fos, chairman of Spain’s 185-year-old maritime firm Boluda Corporación Maritima, has been awarded France’s most prestigious medal.
The Knight of the Legion of Honour medal will be presented to Boluda Fos in the French capital in June ‘in recognition of the Boluda Corporación Maritima CEO’s professional career as a model of business in the international arena’
The medal will be presented by the former French president Nicolas Sarkozy.
“It is with great pride that I accept this award from the French Republic: I cannot begin to express my gratitude towards the country,” said Boluda Fos.
The award recognises Boluda’s commitment to its role in maintaining the safety and operability of French waters and ports through the company’s subsidiary, Boluda France, which was set up in 2007.
On February 21, Boluda Shipping began building a container terminal at Santander Port on the northern coast of Spain.
“Boluda Shipping is helping to improve national and international links with the port of Santander with the creation of this container terminal, which will result in lower costs for companies and shorter transit times, and allow Santander and Cantabria to become more competitive,” said Santander Port Authority president Francisco Martin.
