Viking expands life-saving to northern Norway
Viking Life-Saving Equipment has taken over the safety department of Lindrup Martinsen in the north Norwegian city of Tromsø.
Lindrup Martinsen has already been a service partner for Viking for the past 15 years, but will now take over the safety department and run it in-house.
It brings the number of service stations in Norway to six, plus 14 other partners across the country.
“The new station in Tromsø gives Viking a permanent operation in northern Norway, facilitating further growth in a region where demand for maritime life-saving equipment and safety systems is expected to increase, especially within fish farming and ferry operations,” the company says.
“Viking will offer services within all product groups in Tromsø, including life rafts, lifeboats and davits, marine evacuation systems, personal protective equipment (immersion suits and life jackets) and marine fire systems.”
Tromsø is on the coast of northwest Norway, on the Barents Sea.
