Yanmar Marine International appoints new CEO

Yanmar Marine International has appointed a CEO who says the company’s focus will be on expanding the company’s influence within the marine sector.

Wouter-Jan van der Wurff

New engine technologies, alternative fuels and advanced boating systems will be at the heart of the future focus, he says, and it will present ‘tremendous opportunities’.

Van der Wurff served as the CEO of Cable Connectivity Group, guiding the company through growth and transition, including its integration into Infinite Electronics Inc. in early 2023. He replaces president Taro Kitamura.

Van der Wurff’s career also includes leadership positions at General Electric and INNIO. He holds an MBA from the University of Oxford and an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Twente.

“Growing the business further, while the market is evolving, and continuing to build a best-in-class global team with excellent customer relationships, is what excites me most about this role,” he said. “YMI has a proud history of providing reliable propulsion solutions and its forward-thinking approach to sustainability sets it apart.

Yanmar Marine International is based in Almere in The Netherlands.
