ABB/A&P Repair Alliance
Marine turbocharging and servicing company ABB has entered into a non-exclusive alliance with A& P Southampton to provide enhanced ship repair and support services for vessels calling at the port.
The 6.2 is fitted with a single Honda 90hp outboard engine which will deliver a top speed of 25 knots while consuming an average of only 7 litres of fuel per hour in mixed usage. The custom built Cheetah features a Spencer Carter ‘Solo’ winch on the port side and a 750lb slave hauler on the starboard side commercial console. The stern features a fully removable net shoot.
ABB opened a new fully equipped workshop in the A&PSouthampton drydock facility last month which is equipped to carry out overhauls of all ABB turbochargers, including the latest TPL/TPS designs. The alliance allows ABB to improve rapid response for service and spare parts, with additional manpower available from A&P Shipcare when required.
