Barcelona Sees Shortsea Future
The Spanish Port of Barcelona is focusing on growing shortsea traffic and has allocated part of its ongoing expansion for a dedicated terminal to accommodate the sector. Port authority chairman Joaquim Coello told a recent shortsea conference in Barcelona that the creation of new port capacity, alongside economic and strategic considerations such as cooperation and training, enabled him to forsee the creation of a dedicated shortsea terminal.
