Give em Enough Rope

Maritime charity Seafarers UK has linked up with Trinity House , The Northern Lighthouse Board and the Royal Marines to provide a summer challenge for anyone over the age of 18. In The Seafarers UK Royal Marines Lighthouse Challenge participants who have raised £ 125 for the charity will, under Royal Marines expert guidance, abseil down the Portland Bill, Nash Point, South Stack, Barns Ness, Flamborough Head, and Southwold lighthouses.

Vessel owners and operators Robert Wynn & Sons have carried out a series of tests to prove the design and functionality of the £8.5m freight facilities grant aided vessel. The most challenging test saw Terra Marique ‘s daughter vessel Inland Navigator floated into Terra Marique ‘s hold and then receive a 130 ton load using the on board power lifting system.

The Challenge will take place over a series of weekends in May, June and July.
