Peel Makes Deal for Clydeport
Peel Holdings made a successful £ 184m bid last month for Clydeport, which operates the ports of Glasgow, Greenock, Hunterston, and Androssan. The bid for the port operators shares was snapped up by investors at a 21% premium over the previous closing price after management backed the offer. Clydeport had tripled its pre-tax profit over the last five years and seen its share price rise by 133%. Peel Holdings transport portfolio also includes the Manchester Ship Canal.
