PLA Awarded PERS
The Port of London Authority has been awarded the EcoPorts Port Environmental Review System (PERS) certificate in recognition of its work to maintain high environmental standards. PERS is a European standard system designed by ports themselves to assist in complying with recommendations of the Environmental Code of Practice of the ESPO.
There is speculation that a bidding war could break out, with the world’s largest operator, Hutchison Ports, Temasek (which already owns the Port of Singapore Authority), and AP Moller-Maersk also reported to be interested in P&O.
