Shangburg Partnership
The ports of Shanghai and Hamburg have agreed a port partnership which aims to further develop goods traffic between China and Europe via the two ports. It is of particular interest to both partners to strengthen their cooperation in the areas of port planning, port administration, port construction and IT.
At a special meeting, yard CEO Werner Luken told 500 employees and some 400 subcontractors, many of them creditors, ‘I am pleased and relieved that we have got a grip on this extraordinarily difficult and, for the company, dangerous time and that we can tell our personnel and business partners: we are carrying on!’
The agreement reflects the significance both ports see for enormous potential growth in foreign trade by sea between China and Europe, particularly in view of the recent expansion of the EU
