DP-2 multipurpose support vessel
A Dutch renewables support company has announced a 60 x24m maintenance vessel with more than 800m² of free deck space will be joining its fleet.
HvS Dredging Support BV’s new DP-2 Zwerver I will offer a shallow draught (DP-2 with draft of 2.3m), beaching/ground out facility, accommodation for 57, telescopic spudpoles, a 4x4m moonpool and large AHC Knuckle-boom crane.
HvS claims this new vessel creates a new class of “DP Support Vessels” in the offshore renewables market worldwide.
The large offshore knuckle-boom crane is positioned on the starboard side and is manufactured by Scaldon. The crane will lift 40T @ 20m outreach and has a maximum reach of 27.0m. The crane has AHC 40T/20T at Seastate 3, CT, tuggerwinch and is also certified for manriding.
The Zwerver I is suitable for operations as varied as offshore maintenance/installation support, cable lay, cable repair, walk-to-work, ROV-support, diving support on DP-2 or 4-pt mooring, mattress installation, anchor-handing, towing, CPT Vibrocore ops and survey work.
The vessel will be in service in April 2020.
