Monitor your vessel’s requirements at Seawork 2010

The latest generation of Radamec DARAD monitor and alarm system has recently been fitted to Southampton based Hanson Aggregates dredger Arco Dart, replacing the aging Racal Decca system.

The new DARAD monitor and alarm system was installed on Arco Dart while it was docked for service and repairs.

The vessel recently underwent service and repairs in Milford Haven and Radamec engineers were able to remove the old alarm system, install the new system and commission it within the 10 days the vessel was scheduled to be out of service, minimising any additional downtime.

Hanson ships superintendent Aitken Hunter said he made the decision to choose Radamec, as not only were they competitively priced, but also offered the best technical and after sales support package. Supported from their Berkshire base, the in-house service team can offer the potential for having an engineer dockside in the vessel’s operational area in a matter of only a few hours.

Newbury based Radamec has been supplying the marine industry with quality Lloyds approved control systems for over 30 years. The company continues its high level of new product development to ensure its products meet the market requirement for systems that provide quality, reliability and economical through-life cost for both newbuild and retrofit applications.

The company has an established reputation for its range of electronic and electromechanical bridge control systems, monitoring and alarm systems, telegraphs, tachometers, Watch Keeper Safety at Sea Systems, consoles and ruggedized terminals.

The markets Radamec Control Systems serve include commercial workboats, naval, coastguard and customs vessels, as well as coasters. The company is proud to supply its Commander Bridge control systems to the RNLI.

The DARAD monitor and alarm system can be seen working on Stand 164 at Seawork 2010.
