Monitoring of AtoNs by mobile phone

Sealite has launched its next generation of the GSM Monitoring & Control System, which enables authorities to efficiently monitor the status of their AtoN assets via mobile phone and Sealite’s secure Online GSM Web Portal.

The GSM Monitoring & Control System is internally integrated into a range of Sealite products, thus maintaining IP68 ratings, and enables users to remotely monitor and control their AtoN assets via GSM, the same system used by millions of mobile phone users worldwide.

GSM Lantern Functions include remote monitoring of battery voltage, lantern load, solar charge current and GPS positioning; remote controlof intensity setting, flash setting and operational mode; and the setting of trigger alarms for lantern failures, including low battery and off station (for example if a buoy’s mooring breaks)

Port and Harbour Authorities worldwide are benefiting from reduced navigation aid outages due to proactive maintenance scheduling developed from trend analysis of lantern historical data and graphs visible via Sealite’s Online GSM Web Portal, a secure web login where GSM lanterns are logged and then their data captured and displayed on a daily basis.

In addition, various alarm conditions can also be activated, such as tracking a drifting buoy via GPS that has moved outside a designated area (if mooring is broken, etc) or alerting to a potential power disruption.

Web reporting enables multiple users to log into Sealite’s secure Online GSM Portal and view daily/monthly/yearly lantern diagnostics at any time, from anywhere. It also means that maintenance personnel do not need to be on-site to view/check vital operational conditions of lantern installations.

Sealite’s GSM Monitoring and Control System will function in any region providing there is a GSM mobile system.
