Archbeacon beckons as 21st century ‘lighthouse’

Spanish designer and engineer Alvaro Ortiz was inspired by a sailing incident where navigational difficulties led to him being rescued when approaching the port of Barcelona in a storm.

The Archbeacon incorporates an LED sequence which follows the arch, creating a light movement completely distinct from any background lighting.
