Buoys part of package to Santiago Island

The pontoons were part of the infrastructure created in Porto Novo (Santo Antão Island) for the berthing of tenders servicing the cruise ships that visit the archipelago. The aids to navigation were supplied to the contractors carrying out the second phase of the works in Porto da Praia (Santiago Island).

The Lindley Group, in which the company specialised in aids to navigation is Barcelona based Almarin, has supplied two Balizamar C1600T buoys with lanterns to mark the entrance to the port on Santiago Island.

The company also delivered an ALT7 tower with a 10NM nominal range light and an ALT9 tower with a LED sector light. The first beacon is used to mark the approach to the port (in conjunction with the Dona Maria Pia lighthouse) and also the new pier. The second beacon is mainly used to mark the last stretch of the port entrance at night.

Lindley’s technical staff has provided training to the ENAPOR team for the operation, assembly and maintenance of the supplied equipment.
