Marin Port Authority renews AtoN buoys

These six buoys mark the approaches to the Ria in the Galicia area of Spain. Works concluded this month with the installation of Punta Faxilda buoy that marks the northern entrance of the Ría de Pontevedra.

The buoys supplied are from Almarin’s Guía range, equipped with highly durable foam elastomer hulls and robust galvanized structural steelwork. This range is well suited to the exposed conditions of the Galician coast.

The model chosen was the G3000T, with a 3m diameter hull, 5m focal plane and tail configuration. The classic tail design of the buoys, with 5m draft and 300kg of cast iron counterweight, provides for a very stable platform in most conditions. The buoys are equipped with 10m2 RCS radar reflectors and 5NM self contained lights.
