Radar beacon benefits
A radar beacon with outstanding range has become more accessible.
The HEKLEO-2XSR Radar Beacon (RACON) is now available as a standard option through Sealite.
Sealite said: “The racon offers a line-of-sight range that can be greater than 15NM. This racon is ideal for National Authorities, or Port and Harbour Authorities requiring IALA CAT 1 Aids to Navigation.”
Compliant and frequency agile
IP67 rated, compliant to IMO/IALA regulations and suitable for harsh marine and offshore environments, the HEKLEO-2XSR RACON is a frequency agile dual band radar beacon operating on marine S band and X band frequencies.
Providing visibility on radar from the ship’s bridge, RACON features side lobe suppression systems, user programmable Morse code and flash characters to IMO A530, and automatic self-monitoring and calibration.
It has low power consumption and power saving functional periods, a configurable function period and can operate from solar-powered systems, plus is easy to install, light weight and has simple intuitive programming features. It also has a rugged design and a UV-stabilised, non-corroding polyethylene body.
