Sealite launches next generation LED lanterns

Sealite has utilized a new technology highly efficient LED platform in the next generation marine lights. This LED normally has a 120° viewing angle which does not readily lend itself to traditional marine optics. The concept of a Sealite lens is to use internal refraction so that the light source is bent to the desired direction.

Sealite engineers set out knowing that they had to build a much larger lens than existing lights on the market, with greater tolerances in order to direct the light correctly. After over 500 actual design revisions of the lens and three individual injection moulding tools, the final result of all this work is a breakthrough in efficiency and moulding expertise.

Sealite claims to be the first company worldwide to achieve over 1 candela per mA at 12 volts with the appropriate light distribution. The SL15 is the brightest lantern in its class and also features a user replaceable battery and useradjustable flash pattern via an internal rotary switch located in the battery housing. It is also IP68 waterproof with a life expectancy of up to 12 years.

As with all Sealite products, this 1-2nm+ solar LED lantern is designed to IALA standards. The solar module, battery and electronics are all completely self contained, making these lights extremely user friendly and easy to install.

The SLC310 claims the highest power to light output ratio of any lantern on the market and the SLC 410 features a larger power supply for low sunlight regions and demanding duty cycles.
