New pump out facility ready for Olympics

The brick pump and hose houses have been cleaned out, refurbished and fitted with new security doors. In one the company has installed a hose hanger and 20m of tough, specialist pump out hose along with appropriate valves and also rinse out facilities. In the other they have installed a brand new, powerful and reliable LeeStrom LS30T Peristaltic pump. This service is manned and operated by Weymouth harbour staff.

On the environmental front, LeeSan reports that it is now supplying a growing number of ‘dual function’ stand alone pump out units. In addition to the obvious black water pumping facility, these units LS160WB and LS400WB also feature full bilge pump out function via a suction pump and stainless steel probe with a built in micro filter. Oily bilge water is collected in a separate tank for ecologically sound disposal at a later date, or in some cases for the oil to be recovered using a separation process.
