Dunmore dredging made more costly by contamination
It has emerged that the cost of dredging and removing silt from the harbour at Dunmore East harbour at Waterford in Ireland will be some €6m, higher than originally hoped.
Engineering consultants RPS examined several options for Dunmore East harbour, and found that much of the sediment there is contaminated with TBT. This makes the cost disposing of dredged spoil significantly higher than for uncontaminated material.
