Police boathouse
Netherlands-based Shipyard Hoebée B.V. (part of the Kooiman Group) has signed a contract for the design, construction and installation of a floating boathouse for the harbour police in Rotterdam.
The boathouse will be moored in the Service Harbour at the Maasvlakte 2 in Rotterdam, and measures 20 x 15 metres and the height varies from 4 metres up to 6 metres. The construction will be suitable for positioning two RIBs and is provided with two docking positions, each with a ship lifting facility to drydock the vessels. The ship lifts are provided with adjustable cradles and have a capacity of 10 tons each. The cradles can be adjusted in length as well as in bottom elevation angle.
Hoebée says the boathouse will be designed in such manner that dry docking of vessels will have next to no effect on the trim position of the boat-house. Further, the boathouse is designed in a modular manner, allowing straightforward future extension.
