Research facility will add to Xbloc effectiveness

Delta Marine Consultants (DMC) in The Netherlands has opened a 2-D wave flume facility equipped with a wave generator to assist with ongoing research work on the Xbloc, its popular armoured coastal defence unit. The flume facility is 25m long, 0.6m wide and 1m high and is capable of generating wave heights up to 30cm. It will be used for further research on Xblocs by graduate students and for model tests for external clients.
