SMM Z-drive handover
During SMM Hamburg 2018, Veth Propulsion, recently part of Twin Disc, Inc. signed the contract with Sanmar Shipyards for the delivery of Z-drives to the 10th Yenicay class tug in a row.
This RAscal1800 will get 2 Veth Z-drives, type VZ-900 (968kW @ 1800rpm) and has a VOB50 nozzle of 1.70m
After 9 Yenicay vessels and 5 Göksu vessels have used this technology, Sanmar is familiar with the performance and liability of the Veth thrusters. Based on trust regarding the high quality and service level, the Gürun family chose Veth Propulsion as its thruster manufacturer again.
So far Veth Propulsion has delivered 30 thrusters to 15 Sanmar tug boats in countries such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Turkey, Italy and New Zealand. “We are really proud and looking forward to cooperate with Sanmar Shipyards again.” said Erik Veth, CEO of Veth Propulsion.
