Survey vessel delivered to jhc
UK based coastal science consultancy business, jhc research, has received a new shallow draft 16c aluminium workboat from Pembrokeshire based, Robust Boats.
The new vessel, which has been designed to jhc research’s requirements, is powered by a four stroke Yamaha F60 outboard. It will be used to carry out ongoing inshore investigation work in a variety of sea conditions within a 20 mile radius of Poole.
jhc research chose Robust Boats and Yamaha for its new vessel after making initial contact with them at Mercator Media’s 2012 Seawork Exhibition.
Professor John Humphreys, head of jhc research, said: “Yamaha was the best engine for the particular application and combined with the purpose built Robust 16 workboat provides an optimal set up for a wide variety of tasks, often while working single handed.”
Both Robust Boats (V18) and Yamaha (A99 and V55) will be exhibiting at this year’s Seawork Exhibition, taking place at ABB’s Port of Southampton from 25 to 27 June 2013.
