Braveheart takes delivery of fourth Javelin vessel
Javelin has delivered its fourth multipurpose vessel specially designed for hydrographic survey and crew tender activities to Braveheart Marine to help expand its fleet.
The Patriot has been designed to undertake activities including hydrographic survey, crew tender and support activities like, transport of equipment or cargo, diving support, windfarm support and guard vessel operations.
“The Javelin 25.25 is able to operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week past the 200 miles zone. Such a large operational area requires that the crew will need to stay at sea for longer periods of time,” said Jelle Hakvoort, CEO of Javelin International.
Therefore, he said, the Javelin not only has a lot of work space and 12 crew seats, but also ten berths, two toilets and a shower, a water maker and a fully equipped galley.
Mr Hakvoort added that stability, comfort and speed are important pillars of the vessel. The Javelin concept has been tested by the Marin Institute in Wageningen to optimise the roll and pitch of the vessel.
Javelin International facilitated the construction and Baaiman Jachtbouw constructed the aluminium hul of the vessel.
After sea trials, the Patriot will sail to Zeebrugge, Belgium where the vessel will perform hydrographic survey and crew tender activities for Tideway on the Rentel offshore windfarm off the Belgian coast.
Dutch boatbuilder Javelin International BV designs and constructs vessels for the near shore and offshore industries.
