GEMS and Pelydryn form strategic alliance – by David Goodfellow

The two organisations aim to provide combined marine vessel and airborne laser hydrographic services which will be comprehensive and seamless for customers requiring coastal and deepwater surveys with access to the most advanced technology and expertise.

Services available include Pelydryn’s Hawkeye II airborne bathymetric dual-frequency system designed to acquire topographic and bathymetric data simultaneously. Seabed bathymetry data can be accessed at depths as great as 40m to 60m according to the company’s founder, former UK National Hydrographer, Dr Wyn Williams. Helping clients to plan, manage and grow their own hydrograpic capability are among other company aims, he said.
