Dutch Salvage Group Joins US 1Call
SvitzerWijsmuller Salvage hasjoined the ICall team of Resolve Marine Group (Resolve) and National Response Corporation (NRC), which provides comprehensive OPA 90 emergency response services to both tankers and non-tank vessels at any location in the United States. Services include oil pollution containment and recovery, salvage, fire fighting, emergency towing and emergency lightering.
The immediate response capabilities of the network can be activated by ‘1Call’ to a dedicated 24/7 central response centre.
Response equipment stored at strategic locations around the USA is held for immediate deployment.
The 1Call system was created to simplify the response process for plan holders. The service is intended to meet a plan holder’s current response requirements while planning for new and more stringent proposed US regulatory changes concerning salvage, fire fighting and cargo/fuel transfer.
The 1Call network partners have existing relationships with various Qualified Individuals (QIs) and Spill Management Teams (SMTs) in the USA and will work closely with them during a response.
Netherlands based SvitzerWijsmuller Salvage provides marine emergency response at a global level, with salvage teams held at readiness at strategically located bases around the world. Beyond the ownership of extensive salvage assets and equipment, SvitzerWijsmuller has access to over 250 group owned tugs and other vessels.

SvitzerWijsmuller Salvage will add the global salvage component to the existing 1Call network and will provide significant additional support and resources for US readiness and response under the requirements of OPA 90.
