The New Anglian Princess Hosts Pool of London Reception

With the tug moored alongside HMS Belfast in the Pool of London, the Cabinet Secretary Sir Andrew Turnbull received the MCA’s certificate of registration to the recently revised and updated ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System.

The Award presented by Mr John Hele, quality systems business manager, of the British Standards Institution was made aboard the Agency’s brand new Emergency Towing Vessel.

The MCA is one of the first major organisations to achieve certification to this prestigious internationally recognised standard. The Agency has long recognised the benefits of being able to demonstrate to its customers, especially the shipping companies and commercial operators, that its survey and inspection arrangements meet the highest international quality standards.

Sir Andrew said in his acceptance speech: ‘I am pleased to be aboard the Anglian Princess today and to accept this award which recognises that the UK has one of the most modern and progressive maritime administrations with operational responsibility with the MCA.’

Anglian Princess is the latest addition to a fleet of four powerful tugs provided by Klyne Tugs under a prestigious eight-year contract to the MCA, and the first to appear in the distinctive white and red Coastguard livery.
