2nd CSOV launched for Norwind Offshore

The Commissioning Service Operation Vessel was named Norwind Hurricane at Vard Brattvaag at the end of March.

The design of the vessels, of which there will be five in total, is a 4 19 design that Vard says focuses on ‘on-board logistics, security, comfort and superior operability’.

They are equipped for the usual services at offshore wind farms, from construction to operation to maintenance.

Norwind Hurricane is 85 metres long, with a beam of 19.5 metres and a height-adjustable 3D motion-compensated gangway with elevator system.

She also has a boat-landing system and is a hybrid propulsion with battery pack. She can accommodate 87 persons.

The vessel also has Vard Electro’s ‘SeaQ’ Integrated Bridge System, and is prepared for a full digital overview with the SeaQ Green Pilot technology, which enables the operator to get a full picture of energy consumption data.

“We are looking forward to having the vessel in operation to continue our contribution to the development of more renewable energy,” said Norwind Offshore CEO Svein Leon Aure.

The company did not say where the vessel and sister vessels would initially operate.
