Damen delivers Multi Cat to Atlantic Towage

Atlantic Towage was founded in 2008, and operates a fleet of 10 vessels including tugs, dive support vessels and multi-purpose workboats. Ocean Energy will begin a contract in Danish waters to assist with cable installations, says managing director Sean Harrington.

Ocean Energy has been optimised with a larger forward deck crane AKC 185 HE4 and an AK34 deck crane from HS Marine, the company says, with anchor-handling, towing and tugger winches also on deck.

Kongsberg has supplied a DP1 system to synchronise twin screws aft and a bow thruster for optimum manoeuvrability.

Engineering space has been prepared for the ship to be retrofitted with a Damen Marine NOx Reduction System, which uses catalytic reduction technology that raises the vessel to Tier III compliance.

“While this is the most efficient way to be future proofed for IMO Tier III, Damen also offers a range of retrofit options to suit most requirements,” says Damen. “Additional customisations have been implemented to optimise the vessel for her various roles.”
