​Damen signs multiple tug contracts

The orders include one RSD Tug 2513 and two ASD Tugs 2312 for Fairplay, and another RSD Tug 2513 to follow in early 2026. The ASD Tug 2312 for Louis Meyer will be chartered to Fairplay in Germany under a long-term bareboat agreement.

The contracts continue Fairplay’s fleet renewal programme, which aims to replace older vessels with more efficient, sustainable models. Fairplay has ordered 15 newbuilds from Damen in the last four years, along with four delivered to Louis Meyer over five years.

While the vessels follow Damen’s standard designs, they are outfitted with client-specific features such as LNG capabilities, FiFi-1 fire-fighting systems and winterisation. All tugs will meet IMO Tier III standards using the Damen Marine NOX Reduction System.

The tugs are being built at Damen’s shipyards in China and Vietnam, and will be transported to the Port of Rotterdam via heavy lift, ensuring low emissions and reduced handling during delivery, Damen says.
