Havfram’s strategic partnership approach to WTIV management

IWS will provide technical management services to the new Havram vessels which are scheduled for delivery in 2025. Havfram recently signed a Senior Secured Green ECA Term Loan Facility to fund the vessels, which are currently under construction at CIMC Raffles.

Advanced WTIVs

The advanced WTIVs are designed to install turbines exceeding 300 metres in tip height and to handle foundations weighing up to 3,000 tonnes in water depths of up to 70 metres.

Havfram Wind will share joint ownership of its subsidiary Havfram Fleet Management AS (HFM) with IWS, which will provide management and technical resources to HFM. HFM will be responsible for the technical management of the WTIVs.

Because both parties will share their technical expertise, great synergies are expected from the operation of a range of vessels across the offshore wind value chain.

The collaboration between the two companies is growing ever stronger.

IWS Fleet Management AS continues to provide technical management services to two LNG carriers. This new partnership with Havfram Wind, alongside the six Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOVs) also under construction, helps position IWS at a good place in the market.

Havram has changed direction of late.

After a comprehensive assessment of its overall business strategy, it decided to discontinue the business area of early-phase development of offshore windfarms so that it can be ”fully dedicated to offshore wind transport and installations.”

To this end, Kontiki Winds, a Havfram Company announced the end of the collaboration with RWE and NTE on the bid for the tender of Utsira Nord in Norway earlier this month.
