Maritime Partner delivers Cat to Kragerø Fjordbåtselskap

Minimising wake was a priority for the vessel, Jomfruland, and that has been achieved, Maritime Partner project manager Siljie Nogva said, with a hull shape of ’efficient, modern lines, minimizing wave heights for optimal performance’.

“It also runs smoothly in the sea and achieves good speed relative to motorization,” said Nogva.

Jomfruland, which is 20.4m x 7m and an travel at 19.9 knots, will operate in the Kragerø archipelago. She is propelled by a Volvo Penta IPS 600 D8A4-A and has a hydraulic gangway in the bow for safe boarding.

The vessel will be tested locally before going into regular service.

“Jomfruland gives us increased capacity with space for a total of 60 passengers, while meeting universal design requirements, which is important for us,” said KFS CEO Andreas Steintveit. “We are proud that we can now offer passengers and crew a modern vessel that provides both better comfort and accessibility.”
