Two CTVs delivered under finance programme

Isle of Wight-based Diverse Marine has delivered two Crew Transfer Vessels (CTVs) under its Finance & Lease programme, which it set up in November 2023.

Diverse Marines Finance Lease Programme Delivers Two CTVs with Five More in Build

The vessels, one of which was unveiled at Seawork last year, are the first of a batch of seven CTVs on the books, with the remaining vessels in build.

NR Alpha, launched at Seawork, was the first vessel, a Storm Class CTV delivered to NR Marine Services in Great Yarmouth.

NR Rival was delivered this January and is a Typhoon Class, featuring a hull form for exceptional head-sea performance and tower access while maintaining high buoyancy reserves for better seakeeping, Diverse Marine says.

The seven CTVs include two Storm Class, two Typhoon Class, two Brevity Class and one Ambitious Class.

Diverse Marine launched its Finance & Lease programme in November 2023 in response to witnessing the pressures UK vessel owners were under thanks in part to competition from other European and Asian shipyards. It means for a small initial deposit, vessels can be bought under a lease arrangement.

“The success of our Finance & Lease Programme is proving that high-quality, next-generation CTVs can be more accessible and affordable for operators,” said Diverse Marine director Ben Colman. “By reducing the financial barriers to vessel ownership, we’re enabling companies to upgrade their fleets with more efficient and capable vessels. With five more vessels in build and strong interest in future slots, we look forward to continuing to support the offshore wind industry with innovative financing and cutting-edge designs.”

Stock Build 5 of the batch of seven will be launched at this year’s Seawork event on June 10-12 in Southampton, England. The vessel will be named NR Hunter and is a Storm Class CTV.
