Renewable energy specialist, RWE, and marine eco-engineer, ARC Marine, are celebrating key milestones in their pioneering Reef Enhancement for Scour Protection (RESP) project at the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm

Co-funded by Innovate UK, RESP is the world’s first full-scale deployment of reef cubes, a sustainable alternative to traditional rock scour protection that also promotes marine biodiversity.

The cubes come in 15cm and 35cm sizes and have textured surfaces and crevices to attract species such as seabass, brown crab and starfish.
