Tersan to build passenger ferries

Designed by Havyard Design and Solutions AS, the Havila Pollux and Havila Polaris vessels for Havila Kystruten AS will be built at Tersan Shipyard where two passenger vessels, Havila Capella and Havila Castor, are already under construction following the signing of an earlier contract.

The passenger vessels are part of Havila’s contract with the Norwegian Ministry of Transport for the operation of four vessels on the Bergen – Kirkenes Coastal Route.

Arild Myrvoll, CEO of Havila, stated: “What we have seen of Tersan so far in terms of its construction of the first two vessels looks very promising. They stick to the schedule and their work is high quality.”

Due to their LNG and battery propulsion, the passenger vessels are expected to provide high energy efficiency and comply with low emission requirements.

The construction of Havila Capella and Havila Castor is progressing as planned at Tersan’s new building facilities in Yalova city. They are scheduled to be launched in May.
