Lifeboat makes 200nm voyage on vegetable oil

The company says HVO is made using 100% ’renewable and sustainable waste’, and that the oil ‘has never been closer than it is now to diesel’.

The  Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) lifeboat filled up with 2,500 of HVO before travelling from Fleetwood in Lancashire to Salford Quays.

“There has been growing demand for renewable alternative diesels, like HVO, across the transport and haulage, construction, and agriculture and farming sectors for many years, in an effort to reduce carbon emissions,” Certas says.

“The shift we’ve seen towards HVO this past year has been outstanding,” said Kevin Latcham, who is operations manager at Certas Energy and also a crew member of the RNLI at Hoylake. “”It’s been wonderful to see companies of all sizes working to reduce their carbon footprint.”
