P&O Ferries has made a historic leap toward greener shipping as its vessel, the Pride of Hull, becomes the first ferry on the busy Hull–Rotterdam route to permanently operate on lower-carbon Biofuel B30

At 215 metres in length, Pride of Hull carries up to 1,360 passengers and 400 freight vehicles, making it a vital trade and travel link between the UK and Europe.

Biofuel B30 was chosen after consultation with engine maker Wärtsilä and fuel suppliers as a practical transitional fuel, avoiding costly engine modifications required by alternatives like methanol or ammonia.
