New yacht harbour for Westhoek Marina’s NV
A brand new yacht harbour is to be built by Westhoek Marina’s nv in Nieuwpoort Belgium, part of the wide-ranging Flanders Yacht Valley Project.
The Yacht Valley Project aims at developing and testing innovative and sustainable nautical service centres on redevelopment sites involving existing companies. Partners include cities, marinas and other organisations in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and the UK.
The yacht harbour and nautical centre will be in Nieuwpoort in the province of West Flanders alongside the Plassendale canal and include 160 mooring places, mostly with catways. A technical area will accommodate about 500 boats with provision for accompanying nautical services
The main building will have offices and workshops for 12 companies with conference rooms, a bar bistro, harbour master’s office, a tourism corner and toilet, shower and washing machine facilities. The centre will be energy neutral from adopting measures including provision of a heat pump using canal water.
