In the America during 2011, the US Coast Guard reported that they responded to 20,510 cases of stranded seafarers. Of those cases, 3,781people were rescued, 648 people died and 388 people were unaccounted for.

SATcase is equipped with a smart mix of SOS/emergency features, including the 406 beacon and an AIS-SART (Automatic Identification System Search and Rescue Transmitter). Both are considered key components for locating a lost vessel.
