Award-winning rescue conveyor launched – VIDEO

Zelim’s Swift Rescue Conveyor, which won the Innovation Showcase Safety category at Seawork, can recover people from the water, conscious or unconscious, in less than 10 seconds.

“The sooner they are out of the water, the better their chances of survival,” said the company.

Easily attached to either the stern or side of the boat, the rapidly deployable conveyor belt is operated by a single button. It can be incorporated into the design of a new vessel or retrofitted.

Capable of recovery following solo or mass casualty incidents, the Swift has been tested up to sea state 4/5 and winds of up to 46 knots.

“We had never seen anything like this before,” said judges awarding the prize to Zelim on June 21.
