New Chairman at BMAPA
The British Marine Aggregate Producers Association (BMAPA), which represents eight companies involved in the extraction of sand and gravel from the sea-bed around the UK, has announced its new Chairman.
The project, a joint venture with South African construction companies Grinaker-LTA and BCW, is being carried out on behalf of the National Ports Authority in South Africa and is valued at ?33m, of which HBG’s share is more than ?13m.
The new incumbent is Barry Dennett, currently the managing director of Hanson Aggregates (Marine), who has worked in the aggregates and concrete industries since 1963. As Chairman of BMAPA he will be responsible for guiding the policy making of the Association, and for representing the industry in its dealings with Government and stakeholders.
