AlphaBridge command for Kotug’s new Rotortugs
Rotterdam based tug operator Kotug has selected the Alphatron AlphaBridge as the standard wheelhouse fit for its newbuilding Rotortugs ART80.
After a careful and time consuming evaluation procedure, the management of Kotug selected the standard ergonomically friendly AlphaBridge Tugboat design for the upcoming newbuild programme. Unlike in the aerospace industry, every ship’s bridge differs from the other and items such as the vessel’s controls and displays are always different and in a different location.
As navigation, communication and control systems are devices and systems the ships’ crews must deal with on a daily basis, a standardisation like AlphaBridge is a solution that will make life easier and operation safer.
Since its introduction in 2007, more than 280 AlphaBridge wheelhouse concepts are in service, ranging from small pilot tenders to large rescue support vessels for the Australian Defence Force.
Kotug’s Rotortugs will be built at Damen Shipyards in the Netherlands and Cheoy Lee in Hong Kong.
