Data platform upgraded to provide metocean data

The new product means that rather than having to look at forecasts separately, anyone needing to know what the weather holds during offshore projects can access that data along with ocean currents and so on all under one roof.

The platform uses space-based data and analytics firm Spire Global’s weather data, which is already used by offshore construction contractors and operation and maintenance workers. 

The integration of accurate wind, wave, and environmental data from Spire Global augments the TrueOcean MDP’s sensor data management capabilities, which are designed to optimise technical workflows in geo-informatics, geotechnics, and hydrography, using a single integrated platform built specifically for the offshore wind sector.

Asset owners such as utilities and cable network operators can also access the recorded metocean data on the platform to verify their processes and improve the quality of their survey data.
